Raffles City Chongqing is strategically located in the heart of the Yuzhong District – a densely
populated district in Chongqing where government and business offices are located. With
frontage along two important rivers – the Yangtze River and Jialing River – it is situated
between Chao Tian Men Square and the traditional Central Business District of Jie Fang Bei,
which is known for its broad pedestrian streets lined with shopping malls, department stores,
office buildings and hotels.
Raffles City Chongqing will comprise a shopping mall and eight towers for residential, office,
serviced residence and hotel use, with total gross floor area of about 817,000 sq m and total
investment of about RMB21.0 billion (EUR2.6 billion). The development will enjoy excellent
connectivity as it will be integrated with a transport hub with a metro station, bus interchange,
ferry terminal and cruise centre. The shopping mall will have a total gross floor area of 222,000
sq m and is targeted to be opened in 2017. Raffles City Chongqing is CapitaLand Group’s
biggest investment in China and the largest by any Singapore firm in the country
