Retailer of the week: Max Burgers - Beyond Retail Industry

MAX BURGERS

Nordic customers definitely prefer hamburgers with Swedish flavours. Max Burgers, one of the first Swedish hamburger restaurant chains, was founded by Curt Bergfors and Britta Andersson in 1968. They opened their first restaurant in Gällivare (Sweden) which became so popular that they could expand their business further and open new restaurants in several other cities.

“We started as early as 1968, while our American colleague still were five years away from entering our home market. Max ambition is the same as 40 years ago – we serve the most delicious hamburgers with the best ingredients.” (Max Burgers)

Nowadays, Max Burger is still a family-owned company counting 120 restaurants worldwide with a turnover of €220 million. For years, Max has had the most satisfied customers among the nationwide fast food chains in Sweden, beating McDonalds and Burger King by large margins. Not only do they offer traditional hamburgers but also low-fat and gluten-free options with their own brand of salad sauce.

They pride themselves to be “the most profitable restaurant chain in Sweden outperforming both McDonald’s and Burger King”“Our vision is to become the world’s best fast food chain and thus we are seeking the world’s best franchise partners.” (Max Burgers)

They offer a franchising option to their business partners worldwide:

Should you be interested in franchising or a partnership with the popular Swedish hamburger restaurant chain, come to MAPIC this autumn to discuss with them the business opportunities in your country.
